Welcome to the Parish of Alveston

There are 3 Churches in the Parish of Alveston:

  1. St James' Alveston

  2. St Peter's Manor Road

  3. The Old Church Alveston

The photographs on the left are those of the respective Churches plus the Tiddington Community Centre.

 

The Vicar of the parish is the Reverend Canon Richard Williams who has been our priest since July 1995 and can be contacted by email at rickthevic@gmail.com.

The forth picture is of the Tiddington Community Centre (TCC) which is on a 35-year lease from the Church and is run for the benefit of the local community and is the normal location for Church Social activities.

 

The Problems with the Tower at St James' can be seen below with the barrier set to prevent parishoners and visitors getting to near the falling masonry and roof tiles!

 

 

Our MATT & ELVIS evening at the TCC on Saturday 12 March  was a GREAT success and over £500 was made towards the Conservation of the Tower.

This Saturday 26th March 7 for 7.30pm and cost just £5 which you can pay on the door!

ALL funds going towards the Church Tower Conservation Appeal by the Friends of St James' (FoSJ).

South Bank Club

Children of all ages are welcome to join our South Bank Club which meets upstairs every Sunday at St James' at 10:30

The choir of St James' includes adults and children and new members are always warmly welcomed.

BlueFish

Bell Ringing

St James' has a light ring of 6 bells and a keen and a welcoming team of ringers! Practice with instruction is held on Wednesdays at 7:30pm and new recruits, experienced or not, are always welcome! Call Les Allman 01789 841505 for details.

Every Sunday we run a Bus Service to St James' for the 10.30 Service. Please contact Rob Cobley if you would like to take advantage of this great facility provided by using the Age Concern Bus.
